Experience the magic of storytime with your child during a First 5 Forever storytime session in the park at the Pop-up Library. This interactive session includes stories and songs for young children. Ideal for children from birth to five years and their parents or carers.First 5 Forever is an initiative of the Queensland Government, coordinated by State Library of Queensland and delivered in partnership with local government.Location: On site parking available off Frew Street. Junior run squad
Come and try running with fully accredited coaches. Learn techniques that will help you run stronger and smarter. These sessions focus on technique, speed, endurance and fun. All levels welcome. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the session. This is a Chillout event suitable for young people 8-17 years.
Stories and craft: School holiday activity
Pop into Anzac Square Memorial Galleries during the winter school holidays for a special storytime session for young children and their families.These special storytime sessions will take place inside the galleries from 10.30-11 am on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays between 21 June and 12 July, and include beloved children's books such as Anzac Ted by Belinda Landsberry and Yvon's Great Adventure by Peter Grose.Following each reading session, families are invited to stay and decorate a free bookmark inspired by the Australian Defence Force. All materials will be provided at the craft table in the Post-World War II gallery. Families who would just like to decorate a bookmark are welcome to visit the galleries anytime between 10 am and 4 pm, Sunday to Friday.Discussing war and commemoration with children can sometimes feel difficult or overwhelming. Books can be a gentle and accessible way to introduce complex topics without being too frightening for young readers. Our volunteer guides all have a love for Brisbane's Botanic Gardens and a desire to share their passion and knowledge with visitors.Walking tours for individuals and small groups (up to ten people) are free and do not require a booking. Have a larger group? Find out more about booking walks for groups 10 or more in size.Walk timesDaily departures at 11am and 1pm, Monday to Saturday.Walks last about one hour and are taken at a gentle pace.Meeting point: Meet at the Mt Coot-tha Visitor Information Centre.Note: Walks may be subject to environmental conditions and guide capacity on the day.

Chatty Table at Marhaba Café - Come share a cuppa and a chat
Looking to connect with others in a relaxed, welcoming space? Join us at Marhaba Café for a Chatty Table-a simple and friendly way to meet new people over a cuppa. Pull up a chair and enjoy a chat with others in your community, whether you're dropping in for a quick hello or staying a while.Location: Brisbane City Hall (basement level). Enter via the corner of Adelaide and Albert Streets-look for the pink signs and take the stairs down.Hosted by a friendly volunteer, the Chatty Table creates a space where conversation flows easily and everyone is welcome.

This course is suitable for young riders who can ride confidently on two wheels. Through riding-based games and fun activities your child will learn the skills needed to have fun off-road and on the bikeways.Presented as part of Council's Cycling Brisbane program.
