The “Essays in Light” exhibition showcases the artistry of ten photographers from the Fine Monochrome Print Group, each presenting a thematic series of fine art prints that dive into subjects as varied as architecture, landscapes, figure studies, flora, portraits, and still life. Each portfolio reveals a distinct creative perspective, capturing the depth and beauty of photography.
The exhibition explores photography as fine art, emphasizing both the allure of traditional methods and the dynamic possibilities of digital techniques. Photographic approaches range from handcrafted Platinum/Palladium and silver gelatin prints to contemporary digital work, highlighting how these techniques complement and enrich each other.
Our hope is to inspire a deeper appreciation for the versatility of fine art photography and to show how these evolving techniques continue to shape and redefine the art form’s future.

Whatever your skill level and motivation, joining your local Habitat Brisbane group is a great way to connect to nature and be active and healthy, all while meeting new people, developing new skills and making a difference to your local environment. With 160 groups across the city there’s bound to be one near you! Habitat Brisbane volunteers undertake a variety of activities including: managing environmental weeds revegetating with local native plants creating habitat for native wildlife citizen science projects.The Zion Hill Bushcare Group meet monthly on the first Saturday of the month 7-9am.
