Experience the magic of storytime with your child during a First 5 Forever storytime session in the park at the Pop-up Library. This interactive session includes stories and songs for young children. Ideal for children from birth to five years and their parents or carers. First 5 Forever is an initiative of the Queensland Government, coordinated by State Library of Queensland and delivered in partnership with local government. Location: This session is held in Whale Park, near the Wynnum Jetty (around 137 Wynnum Esplanade). On-street and park parking is available nearby.

Free guided tour - Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha
Take a free volunteer guided walk to learn about the plants and features at Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha. Our volunteer guides all have a love for Brisbane’s Botanic Gardens and a desire to share their passion and knowledge with visitors. Walking tours for individuals and small groups (up to ten people) are free and do not require a booking. Have a larger group? Find out more about booking walks for groups 10 or more in size. Meeting point: Meet at the Mt Coot-tha Visitor Information Centre. Note: Walks may be subject to environmental conditions and guide capacity on the day.

National Simultaneous Storytime with Olympian Sam Riley
Join us for a special community celebration of National Simultaneous Storytime at Sam Riley Swim Schools, Mt Gravatt East Pool! Families are invited to enjoy a fun and engaging morning featuring a live story reading by Olympic swimmer Sam Riley. Arrive from 11.30am to enjoy a relaxed morning tea, interactive children’s activities, and time to connect with other local families. At 12noon, Sam Riley will read this year’s official National Simultaneous Storytime book, bringing the story to life for children of all ages. Adding to the excitement, Sam will be bringing along her Olympic medals, giving children a rare chance to see them up close and take part in photo opportunities with a real Olympian. This free event is perfect for families with young children, local playgroups, and anyone interested in combining literacy, fun, and community connection.
