Complimentary refreshments. About Brisbane Biodiversity Seminars: This series presents guest speakers on the city's unique plant and animal species and other environmental topics. Brisbane City Council is committed to keeping Brisbane clean, green and sustainable, and values your help in protecting more than 2500 plant and animal species that make Brisbane the most biodiverse capital city in Australia. Guest speakers: Professor Catherine Pickering, Griffith University, Gold Coast - Professor Pickering will discuss how growing native plants benefits the environment and increases biodiversity in our gardens and backyards. Fflur Collier, Wildlife Conservation Partnerships Officer, Brisbane City Council - Fflur will talk about native bees, habitat plants, accommodating bees in your garden, and the national Australian Pollinator Count. Michael Fox, Project Director, Pollinator Link - Michael will be speaking about the Rewilding Mt Gravatt showgrounds project and showcase his book ‘Plant Local to Attract Local’, co-written with Ann Moran.
