As the grand finale of Melt Festival, 1000 Voices is a powerful, joy-fuelled choral event bringing together LGBTQIA+ and Pride Choirs from across Australia and Aotearoa.
Led by Adam Majsay (Sydney Gay & Lesbian Choir, Sydney WorldPride 2023), this extraordinary moment will unite community choirs and solo singers alike in a moving celebration of identity, solidarity and song.
Catch a surprise flash mob on Saturday 8 November during the River Pride Parade, then feel the full force of the choir live at South Bank Piazza on Sunday 9 November at 2pm, hosted by Reuben Kaye, with lots of special guests popping in on the day.

Clock Tower Tour

Remembrance Day Tours
Enjoy a free guided tour of Anzac Square Memorial Galleries for Remembrance Day 2025. We will be offering special 45-minute tours in November exploring stories of Queensland war heroes that exemplify the Anzac spirit and underpin this important day. We've searched through State Library's extensive military collection to bring you some of our favourite stories of courage, resilience, and sacrifice from the home front and battlefields, as we guide you on an interactive journey from the First World War to today. Book now to secure your place on this limited tour. Tours will depart at 10:30am and 12:30pm each Sunday for the month of November. Additional sessions will be available at 12:30pm and 1:30pm on Tuesday 11 November for Remembrance Day. Some of the moving stories you'll hear on this tour include: Hugh Andrew Geraldton Campbell, who joined the 11th Field Company Engineers when he enlisted in late 1915. Engineers, such as Hugh, were the backbone of the AIF during World War I, responsible for building and maintaining critical infrastructure like trenches, railways and roads, which were essential for troop movement and maintaining supply lines. Gladys Moncrieff OBE, a beloved Queensland soprano awarded the Order of British Empire for her wartime contributions. She performed for Australian troops in New Guinea during World War II and Japan and Korea in 1951, as well as working tirelessly to raise money for the war effort and wounded service personnel. A selection of her songs will be playing in the World War II Gallery for visitors to enjoy. Peter John Hegarty, one of 250 First Nations Australians who served during the Vietnam conflict. Born in Cherbourg he served in the Army for six years, nine months of which he spent with the Royal Australian Engineers in Vietnam.

Learn how to research your ancestor's military past and the resources available to family historians at this free talk. Are you curious to know more about the World War I or World War II military service of a relative? Do you want to know more about where they served and the battles they fought in? Not sure where to start or can't understand the abbreviations in their attestation documents? Join us at Anzac Square Memorial Galleries on Sunday 9 November for a free talk with Research Librarian Christina Ealing-Godbold who will be sharing tips and tricks on how to investigate your ancestor's military past. This talk will explore the resources available at State Library of Queensland as well as other collecting institutes such as National Archives of Australia, Trove, and the Australian War Memorial. Questions are welcome! Whether you're a beginner starting to trace your family history or a seasoned researcher looking to dig a little deeper, this talk has something for all family historians. After the talk, visitors can stay to explore the Memorial Galleries - embarking on an interactive journey from the First World War to today, before taking time to reflect on the remarkable stories of bravery and sacrifice in the tranquil parklands. Free guided tour - Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha
Take a free volunteer guided walk to learn about the plants and features at Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha. Our volunteer guides all have a love for Brisbane’s Botanic Gardens and a desire to share their passion and knowledge with visitors. Walking tours for individuals and small groups (up to ten people) are free and do not require a booking. Have a larger group? Find out more about booking walks for groups 10 or more in size.
