Who drops a lot
Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha
About This Event
Do plants feel the cold? Some trees seem to clutch their leaves tightly to them during the winter months and some like to drop them all and go naked. Come explore our Temperate Region Plants Garden during our Winter Hub school holiday activities and see ‘who drops a lot’. Collect fallen leaves, make leaf rubbings and tracings, sketch, colour and write about your favourite Autumn leaf. Explore leaf shape, colour and venation and take home a leafy journey stick of your winter fun. All materials provided. Requirements: Children under 16 are to be accompanied by an adult. Please wear a hat and enclosed shoes; and bring a keep cup or water bottle. Bring a picnic blanket and lunch to enjoy on our grassy lawn. Location: Meet at Temperate Garden. This workshop supports the Botanic Gardens' commitment to creating a plant loving community dedicated to putting the plant back into Planet.
