The Transurban Bridge to Brisbane is Queensland's largest community fun run event, attracting around 40,000 participants each year.Celebrating its 30th year, Bridge to Brisbane takes place on Sunday 13 September 2026. You can be a one of thousands of runners, walkers, and wheelers traversing the iconic Gateway Bridge and local Brisbane streets to raise millions for local charities.You can choose from 2 course options:10km course: starts at the southern end of the Gateway Bridge in Murarrie, takes participants over the bridge, and ends at the Brisbane Showgrounds.5km course: Starts at Hercules Park in Hamilton, moves along Kingsford Smith Drive, and loops through Bowen Hills to finish at the Brisbane Showgrounds.After the race, you can celebrate with friends and family at the Finish Village at the Brisbane Showgrounds, with delicious food live entertainment, free rides and more.

Whether you have medals, wartime mementos, or other historical objects, this session will provide valuable insights into the best practices for their protection and longevity.This talk will be presented by State Library's preservation team who will share expert tips on how to properly store and care for these important items, helping you appreciate their cultural and historical significance while ensuring they remain in good condition for years to come. It is an excellent opportunity to learn practical techniques for preserving your collection and to connect with others who share an interest in history and conservation. Questions are welcome.After the talk, visitors can stay to explore the Memorial Galleries, embarking on an interactive journey from the World War I to today, before taking time to reflect on the remarkable stories of bravery and sacrifice in the tranquil parklands.Location: Anzac Square Memorial Galleries is located at 285 Ann Street, Brisbane. Entry is through the double brass doors located beneath the Shrine of Remembrance.

Take a free volunteer guided walk to learn about the plants and features at Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha. Our volunteer guides all have a love for Brisbane's Botanic Gardens and a desire to share their passion and knowledge with visitors.Walking tours for individuals and small groups (up to ten people) are free and do not require a booking. Have a larger group? Find out more about booking walks for groups 10 or more in size.Meeting point: Meet at the Mt Coot-tha Visitor Information Centre.Walk duration: Walks last about one hour and are taken at a gentle pace.Note: Walks may be subject to environmental conditions and guide capacity on the day.
