A stage for tomorrow’s most exciting performers. 2024 Lev Vlassenko Winner Reuben Tsang brings elegance and clarity to Mozart’s Piano Concerto No.23, before Jake Lyle (baritone) and Rebecca Goobanko (soprano) take the stage for a selection of operatic favourites from Mozart, Rossini and Lehár. The program also features Alice Chance’s bright and expressive Colourburst, Holly Harrison’s high-energy Fizzin’ Fury, and Dvořák’s spirited Scherzo capriccioso. With conductor Luke Dollman at the podium, this concert is a showcase of Queensland’s emerging talent. Clock Tower Tour

For many years, City Hall’s Clock Tower elevated the building to Brisbane’s tallest, offering visitors a magnificent 360 degree view of the city around them. Whilst the view has changed significantly over the last 90 years, the time-honoured tradition of “taking a trip up the tower” happily continues at Museum of Brisbane. The Clock Tower Tour includes a ride in one of Brisbane’s oldest working cage lifts, a look behind Australia’s largest analogue clock faces and time to explore the observation platform that shares a unique perspective of your city. Children’s storytime in the park - Frew Park, Milton
Experience the magic of storytime with your child during a First 5 Forever storytime session in the park at the Pop-up Library. This interactive session includes stories and songs for young children. Ideal for children from birth to five years and their parents or carers. First 5 Forever is an initiative of the Queensland Government, coordinated by State Library of Queensland and delivered in partnership with local government. Enter via the corner of Adelaide and Albert Streets—look for the pink signs and take the stairs down. Hosted by a friendly volunteer, the Chatty Table creates a space where conversation flows easily and everyone is welcome.

Discover the chance encounters that have shaped our place in the universe. Narrated by Pedro Pascal, Encounters in the Milky Way is a time-traveling journey about the cosmic movements that shape our galactic neighborhood. Session concludes with a virtual tour of the Brisbane night sky. Encounters in the Milky Way was developed by the American Museum of Natural History (amnh.org) with the major support and partnership of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
Nature journaling for adults
Join this regular nature journaling get-together at Downfall Creek Bushland Centre on the last Friday afternoon of each month (except public holidays). These informal sessions are a great opportunity to take some time out, relax, and connect creatively with nature. Requirements: Bring your own basic sketch/art pad. All other materials supplied. Wear sun-safe clothing and secure, fully enclosed walking shoes. Bring water and a snack if required as there are no food outlets on site. Bring a lightweight outdoor chair if you'd like to use one. Arrive 5 minutes early to check-in. Note: This activity will go ahead in light rain and can be delivered indoors if required. Events are subject to weather and environmental conditions and may be cancelled on the day.
