The Queensland Games Festival is a celebration of Queensland’s vibrant game making community. Hosted at the iconic Brisbane Powerhouse on Saturday 14 June. This free public festival is an opportunity to come and discover our rich variety of locally made games, all presented by the studios that created them. Enjoy playing games, chatting to the developers, and getting creative in our free public workshops. From digital games to board games, there is something for everyone to play from our local game makers. Want something even more interactive? We’re launching a new Amplify Game Space for more experimental and works-in-progress games! Or if you’re interested in working in the games industry, join us in the Emerging Developers Room to chat with a game dev about life in the industry!

Clock Tower Tour
Discover the hidden secrets of your heritage-listed City Hall building with a guided tour of Brisbane’s iconic Clock Tower. The Clock Tower Tour is a “must do” while in Brisbane! For many years, City Hall’s Clock Tower elevated the building to Brisbane’s tallest, offering visitors a magnificent 360 degree view of the city around them. Whilst the view has changed significantly over the last 90 years, the time-honoured tradition of “taking a trip up the tower” happily continues at Museum of Brisbane. The Clock Tower Tour includes a ride in one of Brisbane’s oldest working cage lifts, a look behind Australia’s largest analogue clock faces and time to explore the observation platform that shares a unique perspective of your city. Children will love this tour of the Solar System through the eyes of a family of aliens on vacation from another star system. Session concludes with a virtual tour of the Brisbane night sky.
Advanced drop off jump mountain bike skills
For high intermediate to advanced riders that ride mountain bike single trail regularly and want to improve their jumping skills. Presented as part of Council’s Cycling Brisbane program.
Free guided tour - City Botanic Gardens
Take a free volunteer guided walk to learn about the plants and features at the City Botanic Gardens. Our volunteer guides all have a love for Brisbane’s Botanic Gardens and a desire to share their passion and knowledge with visitors. The walks are taken at a gentle pace for about one hour. Walking tours for individuals or small groups (no more than ten people) are free and do not require a booking. Have a larger group? Find out more about booking walks for groups 10 or more in size. Location: Meet at the City Botanic Gardens Information Kiosk (next to the Queensland University of Technology’s Main Drive pathway). Note: Walks may be subject to environmental conditions and guide capacity on the day.
Magic Globe: A Story of the Seasons
Magic Globe: A Story of the Seasons is an animated adventure that is perfect for engaging children from 5 to 12 years old. On vacation at her grandpa’s, a little girl named Mia accidentally discovers a mysterious piece of astronomical machinery. Edmund, Mia’s eccentric uncle, tricks the girl into using the tool’s secret powers to change the world’s seasons. She realizes the consequences of what they are going to do, but Edmund doesn’t want to let the plan go... Session concludes with a virtual tour of the Brisbane night sky.

Suitable for all ability levels, this session will build your confidence and provide tips and tricks on how to ride safely and have fun on your BMX. Presented as part of Council's Cycling Brisbane program.

This dazzling space show launches visitors through space and time to experience the life and death of the stars in our night sky, including our own nurturing Sun. Tour familiar stellar formations, explore new celestial mysteries, and discover the fascinating, unfolding story that connects us all to the stars. Those who come along for the journey may never see the night sky in the same way again. Narrated by Whoopi Goldberg, Session concludes with a virtual tour of the Brisbane night sky. Journey to the Stars was developed by the American Museum of Natural History, New York in collaboration with the California Academy of Sciences, San Francisco; GOTO INC, Tokyo, Japan; Papalote • Museo del Niño, Mexico City, Mexico; and Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, Washington, D.C.
